Richard L. Colbert

Rick Colbert represents clients in state and federal courts throughout Tennessee as well as before state regulatory agencies and the NLRB.  In addition to work in the courtroom, his practice often involves extensive research and writing on complex employment law issues and constitutional issues.

Mr. Colbert appears frequently in the appellate courts, having worked as primary counsel in more than ninety appeals.  He has briefed and argued cases before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Eighth Circuits, the Tennessee Supreme Court, and all three divisions of the Tennessee Court of Appeals.  He has also filed amici curiae briefs for clients in each of these courts and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
